November 10-13--SDS Road-trip to Convention in Wisconsin

Late Thursday night, on November 10th, two carloads of SDSers left from a parking lot at MSU to begin their 11 hour trip to Chicago, and then Wisconsin. Lisa Grab, Mark Ludas, Dennis Medina, Esha Kallianpur, Maya Kurry, Greg Tuttle, and Justin Wooten were the brave souls who decided to make the journey.

Early Friday Morning, the group arrived at the house of former Weather Underground members, Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. They met up with five fellow activists from Rutgers and spent the day exploring Chicago. Some went to Occupy Chicago, while others went searching for deep dish pizza. Later that night, Bill chatted with the student activists about current events and the occupy movement.

The next morning, Bill helped the students cook eggs and embark on the journey to the National Convention in Wisconsin. A full and complete description of the National Convention in Wisconsin can be found here.

The convention helped train the student activists and give them time to network with other student activists from across the country.
