The Necessity for SDS

In my personal opinion there is a dire need for Students for a Democratic Society on our college campus. Montclair State is not known for Political Activist groups and it was not until recently that any existed. Since there has been a lack of general student involvement in any major decision made on campus, outside of SGA, students have been forced to roll with the punches. That is, until SDS sprouted and continues to grow on campus.  It is SDS’s duty to make sure that Montclair State’s administration knows that they are being watched closely by the student body. It is our job as SDS members to inform our peers on the unjust policies the administration and the Board of Trustees impose on us. Lastly, it is our duty to put pressure on those who do have decision making power. They must know that students are displeased with current conditions. We demand change on campus. We demand our voices to be heard and lastly we demand justice from those in power.
